To process membership fees and contributions, we use Stripe as our payment processor. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. We only store:
- Billing address
- Payment method references (tokens provided by Stripe, not actual card numbers)
- Transaction history

When you contact us through our website, we collect:

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process membership registrations and verify eligibility
- Process membership fees and community contribution charges
- Provide financial assistance (approximately CAD $10,000) to member families during times of bereavement
- Coordinate logistical support including ablution arrangements, death certificates, burial procedures, and wills
- Communicate with you about your membership and our services
- Notify the community of bereavements (with family consent)
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Maintain records for administrative and legal purposes
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers
- Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their use of your payment information.
- Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication services.
- Google: For contact form submissions via Google Forms.
4.2 Community Notifications
With the consent of the bereaved family, we may share limited information (such as the deceased member's name) with our community members to facilitate support and condolences.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
- Secure authentication through Supabase
- Row-level security policies in our database
- PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe
- Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal, administrative, and record-keeping purposes. Contact form submissions are retained for the duration needed to address your inquiry.
